A real cold-weather balaclava first
At speed, cold air on bare skin gets in under the chin and down the collar and ends the riding season early. A motorcycle balaclava has to be thin enough to fit under the helmet, long enough to tuck under the jacket collar, and made of something that actually cuts the wind — fleece lets it straight through, neoprene fogs the visor.
This one is a lightweight windproof stretch knit (ThermoStretch™) that breathes when you stop, with the old man's face printed into the fabric (FullFace™) rather than stuck on top — so it's exactly as thin as the plain black balaclava you already ride with.
Under the helmet, over the eyes
The eyes are a regular open ski-mask slot (OpenSlot™) — one wide hemmed opening, no mesh, no lens — so your own eyes look out of Grandpa's face, which is exactly why it works from across the parking lot. Half helmets, open-face and modular helmets, goggles and sunglasses go straight over it, and your view is what it is in any ski mask.
Hood up. Gaiter down.
Over the head when it's cold. Pulled down to a neck gaiter (TwoWay™) when the sun comes out, when the visor's down, or when you walk into the diner. One piece for the whole season — the bike, the deer stand, the ice shack, the cold-morning commute.
Riding with it on: it's a novelty outdoor mask, not protective equipment. The eye opening is a regular open slot, so your view is what it is in any ski mask — but helmet and face-covering laws vary by state. Many riders wear it under an open-face or modular helmet; plenty ride with it pulled down as a gaiter and pull it up when they park. Your call, your ride.

Reviews
Breathes well on the bike — size runs snug. Cold-morning commutes, breathes better than my neoprene one and doesn't fog my glasses. One-size stretch is snug on my big head — still fits. Every red light is a show.
Kyle F. — Smoker · Winter cyclingActually blocks the wind on the lake. Bought it as a joke for the ice shack. Blocks the wind better than the fleece one I'd been using, and the eye opening is wide enough that my sunglasses sit over it no problem. The guys keep asking to borrow it.
Mateo R. — Smoker · Ice fishingWarm enough for the deer stand. Four hours in a stand at 18 degrees and my face was fine. Pulled it down as a gaiter walking out. My brother-in-law nearly fell out of his stand laughing.

Frequently asked questions
Does it fit under a full-face helmet?
It's as thin as a plain balaclava because the face is the fabric — nothing sewn on. Helmets, goggles and sunglasses go straight over it.
Will it fog my visor or glasses?
The knit breathes, so most riders get far less fogging than with neoprene or fleece. Breathe out through the mask, not up into the visor.
Can I legally ride with it on?
Helmet and face-covering laws vary by state. The eye opening is a regular open slot, so your view is what it is in any ski mask; many riders wear it under an open-face or modular helmet, and the safe play is to ride with it as a gaiter and pull it up when you park. It is not protective equipment.
What size is it?
One stretch size for adults and teens. It pulls on over most heads and snugs down to fit; snug rather than loose on a very big head.
